Charlotte and Andy met while working at Flackwell Heath Golf Club but never spoke to one another. “It wasn’t until 10 years later via a dating app that our paths crossed again,” Charlotte tells us. The couple were attending a friend’s wedding in America and visited New York for a few days beforehand when they became engaged. “Andy proposed while we were at the top of the One World Observatory early one morning admiring the view stretching across the Big Apple,” Charlotte tells us. “It was a complete surprise! We then went for a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and wanted to celebrate with a glass of fizz but at that time in the morning, we couldn’t find a single bar or hotel that was serving alcohol!” SETTING THE SCENE The location of Rackleys Chiltern Hills and the surrounding views were just a couple of the things that attracted Charlotte and Andy to the venue. “We visited on one of their wedding open days and fell in love with the barn which was a perfect blend of rustic and modern - and the team were great too!” they tell us. “We loved the open-plan style of the barn which was perfect for the many guests we had attending. The bride’s room provided a wonderful touch, allowing a separate space for me and my bridesmaids to get ready on the wedding morning whilst being only steps away “On our wedding breakfast menu were canapés, sausage and mash which is Andy’s favourite dish and a chicken option.” - Charlotte REAL WEDDINGS 43
