Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 111)

We both felt nervous but incredibly excited on the day - we almost felt impatient getting ready! We felt so welcomed by Eva and Emily at Merriscourt that choosing it as our venue was such an easy decision! Seeing Dan standing at the end of the aisle when I made my entrance was a wonderful moment and everything else was a blur. The venue features some picturesque outdoor areas, such as the courtyard plus other stylish rooms perfect for the wedding reception. The Stone Barn is the most stunning room for a ceremony, featuring Cotswold stone, making it a light and airy space but intimate at the same time. We both fell in love with Merriscourt as soon as we visited. The driveway leading up to the venue is lined with trees and looks so beautiful, with the Cotswolds landscape providing spectacular scenery in every direction. “The talented team at Merriscourt provided our catering and the food tasted wonderful. The chefs worked with us to create a bespoke menu – we had various Italian-themed canapés, then opted for a family-style meal with large bowls of food placed on the table for people to serve themselves. We had a mouth-watering lemon chicken risotto and gnocchi alla Sorrentina (as a nod to our holiday in Sorrento where we became engaged) served with garlic bread. This was followed by chocolate and salted caramel gelato which tasted delicious.” - Emma and Dan “We had the in-house photo booth and purchased some garden games including giant Jenga, mini golf and ring toss (although we had to play them inside thanks to the British weather!)” - Emma and Dan 38
