Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 109)

FROM DAY TO DANCEFLOOR How can I change my hair and make-up after my wedding ceremony and before the reception? Meet the expert: Brittany Jones founded Allure Hair Beauty and Makeup in Bicester. She’s a bridal hair and make-up specialist who aims to make clients feel and look their best. Brittany says: To update your hairstyle during your wedding day, opt for a curly, more structured up do to begin with, then loose wavy curls worn down for later in the day if your hair allows. If you’d prefer to wear a half-up, half-down style for the ceremony, the pins can be removed and a little volume added at the roots for a more party-glam look. When it comes to changing your make-up, add a darker lip colour than you wore to the ceremony for the evening. A touch of sparkle added to your eyeshadow will look great as you greet your guests for the evening party and apply a darker shade of eyeshadow to the outer corner of each eye to achieve more of a smokey look. www.allurehairbeautyandmakeup.com www.instagram.com/allure.makeupartistry Local experts reveal all Q&A Beauty GET THE LOOK Meet the expert: On page 47, we revealed an exclusive styled shoot photographed at the stylish Gogos Restaurant by the talented Kamelia Photography. Make-up artist Clare Bellman, the founder of Millie Makeup Hair & Makeup based in Windsor created the stunning wedding look for model Sarah. Clare not only offers professional bridal hair and make-up services, but she also hosts make-up lessons, perfect for brides-to-be and their bridal party. Clare says: To get this glamorous look, skin preparation is, as always, the key to achieving that inner glow. I applied NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation, which encourages a lit-from-within luminosity with a natural-looking finish, to model Sarah’s skin which gave a medium coverage. The eyes are the main focus for this look and I love working with the Makeup By Mario Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette, perfect for soft tones and intense pigment for that touch of sparkle. Peachy tones and bronze shades were applied for the blush and contour, and brides-to-be can pick light pink or peach colours for their lips to perfect the look. www.milliemakeupwindsor.com www.instagram.com/milliemakeupwindsor www.shrigleyphotography.co.uk www.shrigleyphotography.co.uk www.shrigleyphotography.co.uk www.shrigleyphotography.co.uk 76
