Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 109)

Adrian made the couple’s table plan that featured a decorative bird theme. “We both spent hours making the dried flower bouquets gifted as favours,” Laura explains. “Most were hand-dried at home and tied with twine. Our lovely bridesmaid, Ellen made the table names and our florist, Clare Serruya did an incredible job with the flowers for our big day. Adrian is a keen gardener so we wanted to capitalise on the time of year with beautiful peonies and wildflower varieties.” Laura and Adrian’s caterer created an incredible buffet. “Everyone was raving about it,” they tell us. “The delicious food tasted so fresh and we had a great mix of styles and influences. We’re both foodies so we wanted to go beyond the traditional wedding options and choose a mix of spice and flavours which our guests loved. Our chosen caterer Lynne also made our tasty carrot cake decorated with birds to tie in with our theme.” Adrian’s parents offered so much support with the organising, decorating and tidying up the morning after the wedding. “We were particularly grateful for their help the following morning as you can imagine,” Laura says. “Accept help when your loved ones offer because they want to support you both.” LOOKING THE PART Laura wore a beautiful dress from Coast. “I was struggling to find something that felt like me,” she tells us. “I spotted this style online and loved it. “Monica from Sew Bridal & Alterations in Witney did an amazing job altering it for me - the dress was the last one in stock so I had to get one four sizes too big and she adapted it perfectly.” The couple’s bridesmaids wore olive dresses from Pretty Lavish while Adrian wore a stylish suit from Charles Tyrwhitt. “All of our groomsmen wore their suits with a printed bowtie in a pattern called Strawberry Thief featuring a little bird,” Laura says. “Adrian stood out by having the biggest smile on his face all day!” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We both felt so grateful on our wedding day because it was everything we wanted, we both felt very loved,” Laura says. “It was a chilled-out, fun atmosphere which was exactly what we wanted with entertaining speeches and an amazing night of ceilidh dancing. “The band had such great energy - they got everybody on the dancefloor which was followed by a disco hosted by our bridesmaid, Georgia!” 42
