Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 109)

Claire and Adam met through friends during a trip to St. Ives in Cornwall. “Adam proposed to me at home,” Claire says. “He had placed rose petals and candles around our house ready for when I came home from work one Friday evening. My Universe by Coldplay was playing in the background and it was all so romantic.” SETTING THE SCENE Claire and Adam loved the beautiful grounds and the stunning views when they visited Rackleys Chiltern Hills. “The rustic-inspired barn featured large windows flooding the space with natural daylight,” they tell us. “The staff were so attentive and accommodating and made us feel at ease instantly.” The couple’s ceremony was perfect. Adam tells us, “Seeing Claire at the top of the aisle was a special moment I’ll never forget. Claire adds, “Declaring our love for one another in front of our family and friends felt wonderful. Being formally given away by my dad during the ceremony and having Adam’s twin and my mum be our witnesses were standout moments for me. My brother and Adam’s younger brother and girlfriend gave readings during our ceremony which were wonderful.” Claire and Adam chose a pretty soft blue and peach colour theme for their spring wedding. “Our stunning flowers included pale and light peach ranunculus, roses and lisianthus with stronger pops of orange displayed in the tulips and Icelandic poppies,” they tell us. “My beautiful bridal bouquet was a hand-tied posy of blooms filled with the same varieties as those in the bridesmaids’ bouquets, buttonholes and corsages,” Claire adds. “We also had flowers decorating the ladder showcasing our seating plan; beautiful florals tied to the chair ends; “Excitement was the overriding feeling on our special day but the nervous kicked in just before walking down the aisle. After they subsided, the rest of the day was a dream.” - Claire 29 REAL WEDDINGS
