wedding Hannah and James chose The Swan At Streatley for their celebration decorated with a dusky pink and dark blue colour theme Images courtesy of Wallingford Portraits & Weddings A RIVERSIDE Hannah and James met at the Corn Exchange Wallingford theatre, during an audition for an Agatha Christie murder mystery in July 2018. “I thought that James was tall, dark and handsome but too young for me because he is five years younger,” Hannah says. “In the end, I decided to pursue things although James was more forthcoming than I was and we shared some kisses off stage in the wings!” James proposed to Hannah in October 2021 during a trip to Bournemouth. “He surprised me with a weekend at a country club spa hotel that he had booked for our anniversary,” Hannah tells us. “On the first night after dinner, he got down on one knee in our bedroom and asked me to marry him - he had a bottle of champagne on ice! The engagement ring was a stunning heirloom that was given to him by his grandmother, but it originally belonged to his great auntie. The next day, we walked into Bournemouth along the seafront and ate at the Hot Rocks restaurant on the beach where I used to work when I was at Bournemouth University. They gave us some complimentary fizz and a discount on dinner because I still knew the manager there.” Hannah tells us all about their church ceremony followed by a riverside reception at The Swan At Streatley that was decorated with a pretty-in-pink and blue colour theme.
