An Essex Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 93)

Our friends and family made the day what it was. My maid-of- honour, Rachel, made our cake as a wedding gift, while Andy, the best man, handmade our ring box. My mum also played a big part, everything went to plan because of her support. The closer it got to 2pm, the more the nerves started to set in! After our vows we both felt quite overwhelmed, so our photographer, Emma, took us off for a moment to ourselves to let everything sink in. Once we sat down for our meal we were both much more relaxed and really started to enjoy ourselves. We kicked the party off with a DJ. Archie and his best man also performed on guitar and drums as a surprise for our friends and family. Everyone loved it and got all our guests on their feet! Archie wanted a forest-green suit; six months before the wedding we found the perfect shade. He accessorised it with a new watch from his brother, a pocket watch from me and a pork pie hat. He still gets compliments on his outfit. The best man wore a different shade of green to Archie, and the two groomsmen had check suits. They looked great alongside my beautiful bridesmaids in pink, and my maid-of-honour in a gorgeous dark green. REAL WEDDINGS 37 
