In the heart of rural Essex and boasting panoramic views, Downham Hall is a 400-year-old Georgian manor house, which is steeped in history. Red bricks and countryside surround the venue, making it a magical and secluded spot for weddings. The breath-taking gardens and grounds are one of the venue’s many attractions. Inside, original features such as fireplaces, high ceilings and beautiful coving are paired with elegant interior design for a high-end finish. LET’S CELEBRATE! Once the venue receives its licence in early 2020, vows will be taken in the De Beauvoir Suite (70 guests) or the pretty Orangery (40 guests), which is flooded with natural light for gorgeous photographs. Small receptions can be held in the hall (up to 36 guests) or in a marquee in the grounds for 120 people. Langtons House is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building standing in picturesque landscaped gardens with an ornamental lake, orangery and bath house all dating from the 18 th century. In 2016, it was restored and new features were added such as a Victorian-style greenhouse, pretty bridge, entrance pillars, cobbled stable yard and a tea room. LET’S CELEBRATE! There are four ceremony rooms available, all of which overlook the grounds. The East Room (50 guests) is exquisitely dressed to complement the striking decorative ceiling and crystal chandeliers. The West Room (50 guests) is decorated in a gold and off-white palette with a stunning fireplace and porcelain chandeliers. Launched in 2017, The Orangery (80 guests) is the outdoor option within the grounds of Langtons House. For larger celebrations, Langtons Hall (100 guests) is adjacent to the house and boasts opulent wood panelling and William Morris- style wallpaper. This is also the setting for receptions.
