An Essex Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 90)
A week after booking the venue I had bought my dress from Essex Bridal Outlet. I went with my mum and sister and we narrowed it down to two dresses before I decided on the one. The shop owner suggested I add a little applique to it, which finished it off perfectly. I’ve never been one for heels, so instead I rocked some pretty Michael Kors trainers. Neither of us knew much about flowers, so we did a bit of research and found some beautifully simple arrangements, which W Flowers recreated for us. My bouquet was perfect – classic and elegant with just the right amount of colour to match my bridesmaids. I soon went into panic mode when I realised it was less than 14 weeks to the big day. I shouldn’t have worried though, within two weeks we’d decided on a rustic theme and booked everything we needed. We fell for the Fennes while looking online, so when we saw they had a cancellation we called them to book a viewing, but we were told another couple had a viewing before us. Not wanting to miss out on this beautiful setting at such a great price, we booked it on the spot without seeing it – it was the best decision we made! We wanted to reflect our love of Marvel films so we decided to name our tables after our favourite characters and I created a table plan with images of them. My mum was a huge help; she made decorative lights with an Avengers theme, which made a great memento for our loved ones to take home. 48
