For Larissa, that boy was James. “He was a couple of years older than me,” she says. “I always fancied him but he didn’t know I existed!” A few years later they bumped into each other in their local shop while Larissa was in 80s-style fancy dress. “He sent me a message on Facebook saying I looked very colourful,” she says. “After texting for a few weeks we went on our first proper date.” It wasn’t long before James was planning to pop the question. He bought the ring and had to hide it for months before the right opportunity arose. “We went on holiday to Majorca,” Larissa remembers. “Apparently he planned to propose on the second night, but after finding the perfect spot on day one he couldn’t wait any longer.” As the pair stepped onto a bridge to take a photo, he got down on one knee. Larissa was totally shocked, but of course she said “yes.” Back in the UK, the loved-up couple got cracking on organising their dream day for 23 rd May, 2019.
