It was a physical attraction at first that soon turned into much more as the pair became best friends. Philip knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Carly, so he started planning how he’d ask her to be his wife. “He proposed in the pub that we ran at the time,” Carly tells us. “It was midnight at Christmas. All our friends and customers were there. I was so shocked that I forgot to answer straight away and left him with a sore knee!” She eventually did say “yes” of course, and plans got underway for 23 rd March, 2019.
