A converted wooden pallet decorated with pretty vintage flowerpots became the table plan. Place settings were our guests’ names displayed on a pine cone to fit with the time of year. We fell in love with Old Brook Barn and knew we had to tie the knot there. The grounds and building are beautiful and we liked the fact it was ours for the whole day and we could decorate it exactly to our liking. My lovely auntie and cousin decorated a four-tier cake with wonderful handmade sugar flowers – delicious. Our theme was autumnal and rustic with a claret and navy palette. We reflected this in the centrepieces by using ivy, fruits and seasonal blooms placed on a log slice. We treated our loved ones to toffee apple favours with a label saying “’apply ever after” on them! 58
