An Essex Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 85)
I wore a Viva Bride dress called Kendra . It was nothing like what I had in mind but it was the one . I accessorised with a diamond belt and a beautiful veil. I didn’t want to wear heals as I was worried I’d fall, so I chose flip-flops which were a godsend in the heat. Ben and his father donned tailored suits from Dapper Fox. They chose everything from the colour to the lining and even the buttons – they looked amazing. We knew we wanted a barn wedding, so when we met the owner of Smeetham Hall Barn, Bridget, her vibe and helpfulness sold the venue for us. I had three bridesmaids who were all different sizes. In the end we chose a blush dress, which looked wonderful on all of them. Our cake was created by Little Lucy’s Bakery. They had made many birthday bakes for us over the years and were so helpful. The team delivered it to our venue complete with a stand. Everyone loved it and kept going back for more slices throughout the night. My bouquet along with the bridesmaids’ posies and the buttonholes were fake flowers but they looked the part. We wanted to keep them after the big day so they could be displayed in our home. 58
