An Essex Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 85)

REAL WEDDINGS 51  really a moment where you didn’t hear a crash shortly followed by a cheer or a cry,” says the bride. “Throughout the day we chose to have a mixture of music from classic Motown to modern hits. When the DJ arrived he continued to play various tracks – we both have an eclectic taste so didn’t want to be restricted.” To entertain their loved ones the pair asked magician Nick Crown to perform, who proved a hit thanks to his close-up tricks. “He was friendly, personable and the mixture of magic, spoon bending and mind reading was perfect to get all our friends and family mingling,” adds Cassie. “To round off the night we had a silent disco from 11pm to 1am with three different channels playing dance tunes, ‘90s hits and singalong favourites – we kept it a secret, which our guests loved. The next day we saw so many Instagram stories of people at the wedding singing to no music, which we found hilarious.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “A water pipe burst outside the venue on the morning of our wedding so the road was closed. We had to contact all of our friends and family to tell them to follow the detour signs to make it to our big day,” says the bride. “It was great fun going on a little adventure in our photographer’s car outside the venue to capture the beautiful views in the surrounding fields, which resulted in some of our favourite photos from the day.” The couple also enjoyed a ceremony reading of Union by Robert Fulghum, courtesy of Harry’s close school friend. BEYOND THE BIG DAY The newlyweds enjoyed a short break to Italy immediately after their nuptials. “We stayed at a little bespoke hotel on the Amalfi Coast that had views of the isle of Capri – it was incredible,” adds Cassie. “We also booked a longer trip to Sri Lanka later in the year.” “We chose to have a barbecue, which allowed our guests to pick and choose what they wanted to eat while taking full advantage of the amazing summer sunshine,” – Cassie
