I had a studio at Barleylands Craft Village for nearly 10 years but once Covid took hold of the wedding industry I had to close and began working out of my garden summer house. To start with, I was apprehensive but it’s been the best move for me; surrounded by flowers, greenery and wildlife my summery studio is a peaceful undisturbed haven where I can work on the hats I make. My studio is strictly by appointment only and I have a six week lead time. So, as soon as you have your outfit, please contact me and we can start getting the perfect accessory for the big day. What can you offer the wedding party? I design and make headwear, from bridal tiaras to veils; through to mother of the bride elaborate hats and more subtle fascinators for wedding guests. Everything is made to order and I feel very lucky that I get to be involved, even if only in a minor way, in someone’s big celebrations. I hand carve real eggshells, delicately and very intricately into beautiful sculptures and engrave words and names on them. These are bespoke pieces and make for unusual, sentimental, and exclusive gifts for weddings and special occasions all year round. What can you offer the wedding party? I can offer original and indulgent wedding favours for the bridal party and their guests to take back home and cherish their wedding for decades. Carved eggshell sculptures sealed in glass domes make for unique table decor pieces and place card holders, adding a one-of-a-kind touch to their wedding to impress loved ones and their guests. These are heirloom pieces that will be passed down generations.
