They might matter to you, but not everyone will n otice them. While we waited for our evening guests, Aidan and I went to the venue’s Honeymoon Cottage with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. We spent some quiet time revelling in the day, and relaxing as husband and wife. My maid of honour had a sickness bug, so wasn’t up to reading her speech. She gave it to her husband instead, who started by saying, “I’m the maid of honour, the bride’s best friend,” which got a fair few laughs! 48
