Work began on the original Cliffs Pavilion during the 1930s, when it was intended to be a 500-seat theatre incorporating the Art Deco style of the time. With the outbreak of World War II, however, the building work halted, with it eventually opening in 1964. Set in the most picturesque location on Southend’s famous cliff top, Cliffs is a fantastic space to hold your wedding day. With panoramic views of the Thames Estuary and beautiful paths leading into scenic gardens and down to the seafront, the venue’s Maritime Room is ideal for your ceremony, accommodating up to 160 for a wedding breakfast.
