Q&A Beauty Love bride Lauren’s stunning look from her December 2021 Southend wedding as much as we do? We asked her hair and make-up experts how they achieved her big day beauty WHAT LAUREN WANTED “The back of my dress was very detailed, so I wanted a simple, but elegant updo for my wedding hair,” explains Lauren, “As for my make-up, I wanted a look that was natural and classy but to still stand out, as I don’t tend to wear a lot on my face as the norm.” LAUREN’S HAIR “To get this look I started by sectioning the hair below the crown to the back of Lauren’s ears, backcombing a ponytail just above the nape of the neck before smoothing it over. I then began to curl the front sections with straightening irons, rolling them up and leaving them to set, before tonging the ponytail section in one to create a smooth roll curl. Once the pincurls had set I took down all of the sections and clipped the hair back to her ponytail, all the while keeping the desired height that Lauren wanted.” Chelsea Taylor, Chelsea Ella Hair www.instagram.com/chelseaellahair LAUREN’S MAKE-UP “Lauren’s face was such a joy to make-up! After an indepth consultation at her trial, we decided on a natural, dewy and radiant glow and for her to feel like the best version of herself. The base was achieved using a longwearing but light coverage natural foundation; a brightening concealer to lift the eyes; and a mixture of cream and powder products for bronzer, blush and highlight, all of which were set with a radiant setting powder. We kept things light on the eyes using a light, peachy-toned shadow and added some definition on the outer corner with a darker brown shade blended out very lightly, all finished with some natural individual lashes to accentuate the eye shape.” Chloe Kennedy, Chloe Grace Bridal Makeup www.instagram.com/chloegracebridalmakeup https://scottmillerphotography.co.uk 69 ASK THE EXPERTS
