FROM PARIS with love Nicola and Dan’s wedding reflected their love of travel and romantic proposal destination Images courtesy of Matt Austin of Smile More N icola and Daniel met as teenagers when working at Arundel House Hotel in Cambridge; with Nicola liking Dan’s bum and Dan thinking she was cute and pretty! “Our first date was a trip to the cinema to watch Hancock and then we played pool (Dan won!).” recalls Nicola. “We called ourselves ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ on 12 th July 2008.” Exactly ten years later, Dan proposed to Nicola on 12 th July 2018 at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. “It was a surprise, although I was certain he was going to ask! Afterwards we bought a small ornament of the Eiffel Tower and had dinner on the river Seine.” The big date was set, 29 th May 2021, with Whittlesford Parish Church and Parklands, Quendon Hall setting the scene.
