Early in the morning before anyone had woken up, I went for a walk around the lake. It was a beautiful, still and sunny morning. I could hear glasses clinking as they were being prepared for the day and could see suppliers and guests starting to move around inside Thicket Priory. I just remember thinking what an epic day lay ahead. This was one of the day’s most memorable moments for me, but there were so many. I have to give a shout out to our amazing suppliers, without whom the day wouldn’t have been the dream it was. They were all so professional and listened to our ideas to help us create the perfect day. Special mention to Anna, our wedding coordinator at Thicket Priory who is an incredibly kind, smiley and talented person, we can’t say how grateful we are to her. And also, to our photographer and videographer John and Dan. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from them, they both made us feel relaxed and natural, so much so we almost forgot they were there! In the evening a live band played two amazing sets and a DJ provided more music to dance to. We chose the band as we’d heard a recording of them singing our first dance song, Afterglow, and knew they were the one for us. We also hired a photo booth, which produced some fantastic photos and boomerangs! This ran throughout the afternoon and into the evening with lots of people getting a go to try and hit the target. Prizes were awarded to the top scorers. Make sure your wedding is a celebration of you, your love and everything you as a couple want it to be. It really is your day, so make the decisions that are going to make you happy and that you’re going to look back on and smile about. 36
