After the ceremony our guests lined up to throw confetti. To their surprise, they were led out by a brass band playing a dance hit! This was one of the highlights of the day for me. The band stayed for the drinks reception and provided fantastic music in the open air. It was important to me that my bridesmaids felt comfortable and happy in their dresses. So, we chose the Dessy gowns that allowed them to pick any style and fabric as long it was the same shade of pink. They all chose very different looks that worked perfectly together. They looked amazing. Adam wore a bespoke navy Gieves and Hawkes three-piece suit with brown shoes. His tie was a slightly darker pink than his groomsmen’s. The gents all wore their own navy suits as I prefer a more natural style. They all had beautiful buttonholes too from our florist. A friend who recently got married recommended I go to the boutique where she found her dress and they went above and beyond for me. I fell in love with the sixth gown I tried on, a Suzanne Neville design, a style I never thought I’d pick. The staff were so warm, welcoming and kind and made the whole experience a joy from start to finish. Adam and I wanted a celebrant-led service, to make the ceremony a more meaningful and personal reflection of our love story so far. Thicket provided the stunning chapel, where we could have the ceremony we wanted in front of all our family and friends, before being whisked away to a private room for the legal bit. The delicate mix of flowers and foliage created a real summer meadow feel and the blooms were then tied into bunches for guests to take home the morning after. My own bouquet was stunning and looked fresh the whole day. It featured orchids, a nod to our engagement in Thailand. 34
