Wuthering HEIGHTS Inspired by the Gothic romances of the Brontë sisters and the landscape they loved, this local shoot gives us all the feels! Images courtesy of Olivia Weldon Photography The inspiration for this local shoot came from the spectacular landscape of West Yorkshire that also served as the inspiration for the Brontë sisters’ romance novels. The Brontës’ gothic romances are adored for their passion and dark brooding atmosphere, so the team chose the autumn to put their project into action allowing them to mirror this vibe using the warm, earthy, natural colour palette of the season. “We approached our model couple, Dee and Kyle, after being taken in by Dee’s gorgeous dark hair and eyes (a pretty great match for the description of Cathy in Wuthering Heights),” explains shoot coordinator Lauren Jackson from Bespoke Beauty and Makeup. “They were a great fit for our theme.” Hotel, The Penny Bun fit the bill for their warm and intimate vision, maintaining some of the dark, gothic feel of their beloved source material. “After visiting, we felt the earthy, natural décor combined with cosy corners throughout the hotel would be perfect,” Lauren continues. “Meanwhile, the wild nature of Denton Reserve’s landscape, paired with the traditional stone buildings to be found on the estate also offered both the rugged, old-world feel of Brontës’ literature but also the natural, autumnal tones of the season.” The dream team was assembled, comprised of the area’s local wedding aficionados with a mutual appreciation for the vision and the beauty of West Yorkshire. Their collective passion gives the images a real spark that we believe the iconic authors would be proud of. 43 LOCAL SHOOT
