LOOKING THE PART Emily wore Avery by New Zealand designer Trish Peng. It was one of the first dresses she tried on, although it wasn’t one she’d picked out herself or thought she’d ever wear. It was in fact a wild card! She was originally looking at more fitted gowns but absolutely fell in love with Avery to her surprise. “I loved the full button detail all the way down the back, the fuller skirt and the fitted body,” she explains. “It also had a slit up the side, which I loved as well as the pockets!” The dress offered two ways to wear the straps, so Emily opted to wear them off-the-shoulder for the ceremony before switching to the narrower, over-the-shoulder straps for the reception. Charlie was dressed in a three-piece tailcoat suit from Alec Hall Menswear in Driffield. It had traditional grey pin-stripe trousers with black tails. He also wore a blue double-breasted waistcoat and a lilac tie to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses. The groomsmen were dressed to match and also wore white shirts, which bore their initials for a personal touch. The bridesmaids wore Allegra by Maids to Measure in lilac with gold accessories. TIME TO CELEBRATE 24 Live provided the music for the wedding throughout the day. Andrew Lingard performed solo in the church and during the drinks reception. He was then joined by Chris on the Cajon for the evening bash. Laurie from Start to Finish Music also played the sax both as his own set and alongside 24 Live. “We had so many comments from guests about how good the music was all day,” Emily shares. “We both absolutely loved it, and it was better than we could ever have imagined, particularly our first dance – Belong Together by Mark Ambor.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “It rained from start to finish,” Emily says. “When we picked the day back in winter 2022, who would’ve thought that in the middle of July 2024 would be such rubbish weather!” It didn’t ruin the day for them though. “If anything, it brought everyone closer together. If you’ll pardon the pun, it didn’t dampen any spirits!” Emily shares. From the suppliers to family and friends, the couple had so many people lend a hand in the run up to the wedding. “All of our suppliers were so helpful, and the day went perfectly for us,” the bride tells us. HONEYMOON HAPPINESS The newlyweds set off from Ostuni, Puglia in Italy on the Tuesday after the wedding day. They had their own villa with a private pool, the perfect place to relax after a hectic but wonderful day. “The food and drink didn’t disappoint, and it was a minimoon to remember,” Emily says. The couple are planning on going on a safari trip for their main honeymoon in 2025. BRIDE’S TOP TIP “Get organised early,” Emily recommends. “Know what you want and get the suppliers you want booked early. This gives you time to relax before the finer detail closer to the wedding. It also means you have the suppliers you want and you aren’t compromising. At the end of the day, it’s your wedding day and you want it to be exactly as you imagined.” 25 REAL WEDDINGS
