If you prefer an outdoor setting, the pretty Walled Garden Vineyard offers a lovely backdrop for an intimate summer wedding, or if you’re planning something larger you can opt for one of the beautiful Feast Field marquees. You also have the option to say “I do” in the imposing and historical Selby Abbey, just a short drive from Carlton Towers. The venue’s team of in-house chefs pride themselves on producing delicious menus tailored to their couples’ budgetary, dietary and cultural requirements. Where possible, they source local Yorkshire produce in order to create wedding breakfasts that dreams are made of. You can extend your celebrations into an evening reception too, with savoury open platters of artisan breads, York ham, cheeses, homemade chutneys, and pickled heritage vegetables. Carlton Towers boasts 16 opulent state bedrooms that can sleep up to 31 guests. Individual and unusual in style with some lovely features. Designed by Samuel Worth in 1836, the building was completely restored in 2016 winning a Georgian Group Award. Its grand entrance leads you into a simple and elegant interior, flooded with natural light. What’s more, the fine architecture set against the wooded hillside provides a stunning backdrop for those all-important photos. Hire of this venue supports the work of Sheffield General Cemetery Trust who look after the site for everyone to enjoy. The Chapel is surrounded by the picture-perfect meandering wilderness of Sheffield General Cemetery, a historical Georgian garden cemetery designed by Robert Marnock. The grounds are a haven for wildlife and there’s a unique photo opportunity to be found around every corner. Ceremonies are held in the Main Hall for 60 people including the two of you, guests, any performers and staff. The Chapel is offered on a dry hire basis meaning you’re free to enlist any suppliers you choose. The events team can recommend a wide range of fabulous service providers from florist to caterers, event designers to wedding planners. The venue is fully accessible with blue badge parking by arrangement. It has a small kitchen with serving hatch, two toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible, heated tiled floor, eight large round tables, 60 folding chairs and two rectangular trestle tables.
