Your Yorkshire Wedding - July/August 2024 (Issue 67)

We had an ivory draped backdrop behind the top table, which featured an LED sign. We also had illuminated LOVE letters placed towards the back of the reception room. Our cake was a four-tier traditional style, which had flowers draped top to bottom to match the flowers in the groomsmaids’ bouquets. It was flavoured apple crumble, lemon drizzle, Biscoff and red velvet. We had a topper carved with our names accompanied by two grooms and a figure of our fox red Labrador retriever, Sunny. We chose white blossom tress for each table, which really brought the room to life. We also had white roses with foliage dotted throughout the venue, and our four groomsmaids all carried stunning bouquets along the same lines. The place names too were carved from wood to complement the rustic theme, which we thought was a great idea for people to take home as a memory of our special day. Our table plan and table names were engraved onto wood taken from an old barn, along with a welcome sign. Our favours were shots for the adults along with sweets and love heart bubbles, and activity boxes for the kids. We also placed activities on the tables including get-to-know-you cards to help our guests mingle, and ‘for the happy couple’ cards for us to read after the big day. 32
