Your Yorkshire Wedding - May/June 2024 (Issue 66)

I walked down the aisle on my own then stopped and held out my hand for Emma to walk up and meet me, so we walked the rest of the way together. I loved that we did that. My step-dad, Robin, played the harp while guests were taking their seats and waiting for the wedding party to arrive. It really was beautiful and so special that he could be part of our day. I wanted a glitz and glam look for the bridesmaids, so they wore a full-length, one-shoulder sequin rose gold dress with a split up the leg. They all looked sensational. The gents wore navy suits with a blush tie and pocket square to match the bridesmaids, plus an embroidered white rose and chain pin boutonniere to represent Yorkshire. I wore the Watson gown by Josephine Scott. I wanted a stunning back as that’s what people are looking at when you get married! It’s the most exquisite dress with a beautiful, statement train. There was an audible gasp when I appeared at the top of the aisle. It’s a showstopper and I felt incredible. Emma wore a gorgeous fitted white suit with a bodysuit underneath. We bought it from Twisted Tailor and asked Shimmering Ivory to change the buttons and add some embroidery under the collar, which read ‘always and forever,’ along with our initials and wedding date inside the jacket. 40
