bringing love stories to life through her work. It was a blast turning it into something for her and Ted, and it ended up following a ‘pop of colour theme’ with a whimsical twist of moons, suns and stars sprinkled throughout. She says, “The space we had at Lamport was The Old Carriage House. It is quite a long and narrow shape with great big beams running up the space. I made some great big cartoon cut-out clouds that hung off each beam up the venue. At one end was the moon that represented me and the sun was at the other end that had a moustache and looked uncannily like Ted! Over the dancefloor were great big silver stars. Everything was homemade and fun. I also handpainted a great big heart cut-out photo booth for guests to enjoy.” The mother-in-law, Debbie Bunn from Busy Bee Blooms, grew all of the wedding flowers in Lincolnshire, where Ted is from and where the pair is currently living. The tables were given names inspired by significant places and experiences to the couple. For instance, one table was called ‘Stormzy’s Kebab,’ named after the incredible kebab they enjoyed in Berlin after attending a Stormzy concert. The main table was dubbed ‘The Commune,’ reflecting their family WhatsApp group. Another table, ‘40,000 Steps in Paris,’ perfectly captures the essence of their beautiful trip to the city! The couple collaborated with the amazing Sarah Hollowell Catering Company! Emily had previously worked as a waitress for Sarah and was well aware of how scrumptious her dishes were. The caterer prepared the canapés and salads that complemented the picnic baskets filled with local honey-glazed ham, pork pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, chilli jam, mustards, grapes, pieces of bread and more, all sourced from Hambleton’s butchers. There were also some tasty vegetarian options available! Emily skipped the traditional cake cutting and instead invited her friends and family to bring their homemade cakes. She envisioned a cosy, homemade atmosphere for the celebration, and it turned out beautifully with a delightful assortment of desserts. They showcased all the goodies in a charming, shelved cupboard, which added a playful element to the festivities. LOOKING THE PART The bride chose a stunning dress she found on Etsy. It featured a drop waist and a charming vintage style crafted from silk – what a fantastic find! The dress arrived in a bag and was slightly oversized, but Emily sensed it had the potential to be something truly special. Fortunately, Ted’s cousin Grace, a gifted costume designer, kindly offered to make alterations as a wedding gift. To enhance the neckline, Emily added a neck scarf. Her earrings were from Ruby Jack Jewellery, and she borrowed a pin from her grandmother to adorn her bouquet. For footwear, she opted for Stine Goya. Later in the evening, she switched into a fabulous Celia B dress that radiated party energy, adorned with white sequins and fluffy accents on the bottom, top and sleeves. The groom looked fantastic in a beautiful peach linen suit from Suit Supply. The groomsmen dazzled in linen suits of various hues, each featuring buttonholes crafted from the large dahlias that had been nurtured. The bridesmaids showcased a range of pink shades, complemented by striking red accessories. Emily aimed for comfort, keeping in mind her bridesmaids’ diverse body types and the fact that a couple had recently welcomed a baby. She allowed them the freedom to choose their outfits, with the only guideline being that they had to wear pink. To top it off, she gifted everyone the red accessories. The overall atmosphere was wonderfully vibrant and delightfully chaotic in the best ways! REAL WEDDINGS 37
