Your Midlands Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 96)

It was all a whirlwind of emotions and excitement on the day. We were both nervous but couldn’t wait to get up on the stage and get married. The bridesmaids wore emerald floaty dresses, which had sequined flowers across the bodice. My bridesman wore a matching suit. Our number one goal was to plan a fun and relaxed wedding for a day that no one had experienced before. We knew we wanted a quirky, non-traditional wedding, full of exciting moments that involved all our friends and family. I work at the Albany Theatre as an Event Coordinator and even before I was engaged, suggested that this was an ideal venue to host weddings. The theatre has been through a huge re-development where it’s gained three new studio rooms, a kitchen, and a large foyer area. Once I got engaged, it was only a matter of time before the venue agreed that I could plan to be the first wedding to ever take place on the stage! The main house auditorium is Art Deco styled with quirky and unique features. The studio rooms are modern and industrial-styled, and we knew they’d be able to bring our Wizard of Oz wedding theme to life in this venue. I also danced on this stage as a young child at my local dance school, so it brings special memories back to me and my friends! Tom wore a velour, black suit and a dark green bow tie. All the other groomsmen wore black tuxedos. 30
