Your Midlands Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 93)

Something blue This beautiful-styled shoot is a take on tradition but with a twist Images courtesy of Cherished Photography by Claudia The Renaissance at Kelham Hall was the perfect setting for this striking shoot coordinated by photographer Claudia Harrison-White. The concept had been sitting with her for some time; the original idea came from admiring some large blue hydrangeas in a local garden centre one Sunday. Claudia comments, “The idea of taking an element of the traditional rhyme, Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue while adding a slight twist. I wanted to focus on the key pieces, the delicate gowns, elegant hair and flawless make-up, finishing this off with our bespoke floral statement. “It was paramount to choose the right suppliers for this shoot, given its minimalistic nature. That’s why I meticulously handpicked a small yet highly talented group of wedding creatives to bring this concept to life, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail. While rain on a wedding day is often seen as a negative, it’s considered a symbol of good luck in some cultures. It’s believed to wash away past misfortunes, allowing the couple to embark on their married life with a clean slate. Given the unpredictable weather in the UK, this unique cultural belief was incorporated into the shoot, with the florists creating a stunning floral piece to symbolise this. 55 REGIONAL SHOOT
