Your Midlands Wedding - June/July 2024 (Issue 92)

We ended up using the bridesmaid flowers as centrepieces for the table. Harlaxton had some mismatched vases that worked perfectly. We wanted to keep the table very simple as the long gallery where we had our food is breathtaking with its intricate details, so it didn’t need dressing up. I accessorised with a cathedral-length two-tiered veil, a pearl and crystal headdress, pearl drop earrings and a pearl necklace, which my grandad gave to my mum on her wedding day. We went for a naked wedding cake with three tiers, each with a different flavour. We picked salted caramel, red velvet plus lemon and elderflower to ensure something for everyone. We chose a log stand to keep the look simple and added some faux flowers that matched our colour scheme. We also got a little marzipan sausage dog to represent our dog Teddy. Seeing myself on the day was utterly overwhelming. I had tried on my dress a few times, so I knew what it looked like. But I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked once hair, make-up and accessories were added. I truly felt like an absolute princess for the day. I wore a Maggie Sorento gown in champagne with extra sparkles added on the inner layer, so it glistened in the sunlight. I loved how the corset top gave it a beautiful shape, and the sweetheart neckline was so flattering. The bridal party had a grazing board for breakfast, including a selection of pastries, fresh fruit and orange juice. We then had canapés, a three-course wedding breakfast, a pizza buffet in the evening plus gin, prosecco and fruit water stations. REAL WEDDINGS 43
