It was honestly the most nervous I have ever felt, but it was also really exciting. The day went by quickly, so I tried to take everything in. It was crazy how two and a half years of planning came down to this one day! Harlaxton Manor isn’t open to the public! So, we got to use all the staterooms and gardens. The stunning spaces featured magnificent crystal chandeliers, oak panelling, marble flooring, cherubs painted on the ceilings and grand fire places. Our goal when planning our wedding was to choose what we wanted and not be influenced by anyone or anything else. We also wanted to keep all wedding suppliers local to Lincolnshire. As soon as we drove up the long driveway to Harlaxton Manor, we were absolutely blown away by the venue—it was stunning. We knew we wanted something grand as we adore stately and manor houses. We loved that the venue was local to where we grew up and where our loved ones lived. Peter says, “I felt nervous and excited on the day! I was so overwhelmed when Lauren walked down the aisle that I blubbered like a baby.” We bought a table plan template from ETSY and had it printed by VistaPrint. It was mounted on a golden easel and had a simple floral greenery design. Our sweet favours went down a treat! They were just a little something that was personal to us. Plus, who doesn’t love sweets? 42
