IN THE AIR Harlaxton Manor in Lincolnshire provided a stunning backdrop to Lauren and Peter’s wedding Images courtesy of AWPhotographic These lovebirds met on a night out in their hometown. Peter was home for Christmas from the military and was introduced to Lauren through mutual friends – there was an instant attraction between the two! Lauren comments, “I first noticed how outgoing Peter was and loved his blue eyes plus tattoos. We spent New Year’s Eve together dancing and drinking; our first kiss was at midnight!” Peter comments, “Lauren took my breath away as soon as she walked into the room, I knew I needed to get to know this girl! I remember exactly what she wore: a red dress and a black shawl. I was immediately comfortable in her presence and couldn’t wait to get to know her more – the rest is history!” Peter proposed back in January 2021 during lockdown. The couple had spotted the perfect ring during Christmas shopping, but little did Lauren know, Peter went back the next day to buy it ready to propose at home. He prepared a homemade three-course meal with romantic music and roses. While Lauren was pouring them both a drink, she turned around to find Peter down on one knee. At first, she thought he was joking as she didn’t see it coming. Peter says, “I had planned to propose in April that year to plan something special, but I honestly couldn’t wait to ask her as soon as I had the ring!” Here, the bride shares details about their special day… Love is REAL WEDDINGS 41
