We had party games on the lawns and a live band called Hard to Handle to keep guests entertained – they were absolutely fantastic! Later in the evening, our photobooth was a great hit with the kids. My two maids-of-honour wore rose gold gowns, my four bridesmaids were in blush and the flowergirl was in white with a blush cardigan. I picked a Martina Liana fit-and-flare dress with a long train but changed it entirely during alterations to make it my own. One week, I loved it; the next, I changed something else and continued to do this for months until a week before our wedding. My alterations lady needs a patience medal! I accessorised with a sparkle long veil, pearl drop earrings and a pearl bracelet made from my grandmother’s pearls. Dan wore a navy suit with a checked waistcoat and brown shoes. We had a three-tiered cake in blush with roses, pampas and a wooden tree slice saying, ‘Mr & Mrs Brewer’. 32
