Q&A Fashion and beauty Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best BEAUTIFUL BRIDES My wife-to-be and I want showstopping dresses that aren’t too similar. Do you have any suggestions? We recommend having your appointments at the same time. We have two beautiful suites adjacent to each other where the same party of guests can view both brides without them seeing each other. We usually have two stylists who work together to ensure that the dresses don’t clash but work together to create an overall showstopping look. It’s important to try and avoid gowns that will compete for the limelight and that each dress represents the brides’ personalities and styles too. For instance, one dress might be a princess ballgown whilst the other could be a sexy, low back number – this will look great as long as the fabrics work together. Fabrics, colour and embellishments can make a big difference to the overall look. Remember its your choice and as long as you’re both happy, the only thing your guests will remember is that you looked amazing and that they had a great day celebrating your wedding with you, after all, that’s what it’s all about. For autumn brides, try incorporating rustic colours into your hair accessories, including burgundy, oranges, chocolates and reds. I find dried flowers for the bride, and bridal party work very well as they are long-lasting and create a seasonal feel. Fishtail plaits are great for this time of year as they can be pulled out as big as needed. Alternatively, look at a curled half-up style, or a full twisted up do with a dried flower comb, pins or a flower crown. Claire Hateley www.facebook.com/hairstylistworcester 72
