My love of baking started as a child, I always baked the Sunday cakes for tea and at school I came top in arts and crafts. In 1992, I got married and saw a huge gap in the cake decorating and wedding market, so I opened a cake decorating shop with wedding services. I had this for 10 years and found that my passion was for baking and designing cakes more than the retail side, so I sold the shop, and my husband converted the home office to the “cake room” so that I could offer a bespoke wedding cake service and Wedding Cakes by Lisa Broughton began.
