SARAH LEGGE PHOTOGRAPHY Shannon and Matt’s wedding is my chosen showcase, reasons are partly it’s back in the city I went to uni, but mainly because the couple had an amazing love story; it’s one of love at first sight, and a couple separated by the ocean. They met when they interviewed at New College and fittingly held their wedding ceremony in the stunning New College Chapel – we even got a quick photo in the spot they first set eyes on each other! After the ceremony, the gorgeous bride and groom and I took a few photos in college’s stunning gardens, then strode through Oxford. I love photos of wedding couples in a city – walking photos are always a good idea (movement can make people feel more relaxed) plus the reaction of tourists always adds great energy to a set of wedding photos! Best of all, it was a lovely hot day and Shannon and Matt grabbed a gelato on the way – perfect refreshment plus super fun props for the photos! I’ve photographed in lots of different venues in my time, but this was the first time I’ve photographed a wedding reception in a museum, and what a special museum! The Ashmolean is stuffed full of treasures, and lots of fantastic spots for photography. Another thing I loved about this wedding were the guests including a one of my past couples (Hi Marie and Olllie!) and a wedding couple of mine for next year (Hi Fiona and Paul!). There are dozens more things I loved (have I mentioned Shannon’s stunning Suzanne Neville dress yet?!) but I’ve got lots of wedding editing to be getting on with, so I’ll leave it there so you can get to the important bit, the photos! www.sarahleggephotography.co.uk www.instagram.com/sarahleggephotography www.facebook.com/sarahleggephotography STACEY-LOU PHOTOGRAPHY Laura and Freddy’s wedding took place at the groom’s parents’ home in Dorking. It was down a country path in the middle of a wooded area so there were some lovely places for photos. The bride got ready at Stanhill Court Hotel before the ceremony took place under a marquee in the grounds of the home. For guests, they served tacos and espresso martinis and later there was a pizza van! Rather than a wedding cake, their guests bought homemade cakes and cookies, which were laid out on a table inside a tipi where the dancefloor and bar were set up - the live band played in the evening and there was lots of dancing! The weather was a mixed bag with some heavy downpours, but we worked around it, and I guess what made this wedding for me is how welcome we were made to feel. Sometimes you just click with couples, and we were made to feel that we were part of the day, not just suppliers. All the suppliers were amazing and friendly too, which made the day just such a joy! And even after I delivered the album, I had messages from the groom’s parents thanking me and my second shooter for all our hard work.
