Ryan’s papa served in the Royal Fusiliers and he wore his uniform on the day. Ryan, papa, Ryan’s dad and brother all wore the Fusiliers hackles instead of a buttonhole; it tied in nicely with my pampas bouquet, and was a special little touch to honour his papa who is 91! The venue itself is just breathtaking. It’s nestled within a beautiful park, it’s private and you get use of the house and grounds; there’s also a river and a stunning bridge for your photos. Ryan and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos. I wore a lace, off-the-shoulder, fitted gown from Aurora, a wedding shop in Cheam. I’d tried lots of dresses on and narrowed it down to two completely different styles. The other option was a boho-style dress with lots of fabric and sleeves. I’d always wanted a fitted dress when I was younger but because of my curves, never thought I’d get away with it. Every time I put my dress on, I did a little happy dance! The two older bridesmaids wore black one-shoulder dresses, while the four younger maids wore a white, puff-sleeve dress with a bow at the back and pearl buttons. We knew that we wanted a venue that we could use for both the ceremony and reception. We only viewed Morden Hall and instantly booked our date! We loved how accessible the venue is, Ryan’s grandparents are elderly and a big part of our lives so it was a must that they could join in with us. 34
