Since we were getting married in the forest, all of our guests were seated on little tree stumps, and the wedding party and I had planned to walk across a small bridge to the ceremony spot while my brother played the bagpipes. We weren’t expecting that moment to be so magical for everyone – the rain hitting the canopy overhead made everything feel very cosy and atmospheric with the pipes in the distance. Greg wore a dark green suit jacket and brown chinos, with a buttonhole of similar colourful dried flowers to the ones in my hair. We wanted to keep things relatively smart-casual, and I think he achieved this well – he looked great! We fell in love with Ridge Farm and couldn’t picture ourselves in any other venue. Greg is a musician, so its amazing history as a recording studio with many records displayed on the farmhouse walls was a real draw for us, and we knew lots of our musician friends would love it too. The ceremony spot in the forest was idyllic, and the farmhouse and glamping grounds could accommodate all of our nearest and dearest. Greg and I love a spa day, so Ridge Farm’s pool, sauna and hot tub were hard to resist! My dress, Cate, was by Madi Lane. I wore a short veil for the ceremony and colourful dried flowers in my hair, which I changed to an updo at the last minute because it poured with rain on our wedding day! It was lovely to walk down the aisle feeling my best. As our ceremony was outdoors, we wanted to stick to earthy tones so gave my bridesmaids a rough colour palette of sage greens, dark greens and sandy colours, letting them all choose a dress they felt comfortable in and could potentially wear again. All the bridesmaids ended up with unique dresses, which I loved, and they each carried a small, colourful, dried flower bouquet. The groomsmen all wore the same brown chinos, white shirts, dark green braces and dried flower buttonholes. Everyone looked great together! 45 REAL WEDDINGS
