architecture and stunning views from the terrace sold it to us!” Charlotte and Mike both felt nervous which they weren’t expecting. “It had been so long in the planning that when the day finally arrived, we were quite overwhelmed,” Charlotte says. “Once we met at the top of the aisle, it was such a relief and getting to exchange our vows in front of our loved ones felt amazing.” The couple were accompanied by their daughter who walked down the aisle with one of their bridesmaids and ran straight into Mike’s arms which set everyone off crying. “Walking back down the aisle and having the first glass of champagne as a married couple was so special, just having 10 minutes to take it all in just us two felt wonderful,” Charlotte tells us. “Having both of our children there was a real highlight, the photographs of us as a family are incredibly special.” The couple chose a natural theme with white flowers and green foliage to decorate their special day. Charlotte tells us, “We had incredible flowers as our centrepieces and our venue decorators, Abbi and Ashlea from Glam Grazing transformed the Fielden Suite. We had chair sashes, a floral wall and neon sign, a wedding postbox and the most stunning faux trees that we got married under.” Charlotte and Mike chose a simple yet elegant table plan with stylish gold-framed table numbers and place names decorated with ribbon which Charlotte made. “Our favours were biscuits iced with Happily Ever After,” she says. The stunning three-tier cake featured lemon, salted caramel and white chocolate and raspberry layers. “It tasted delicious and looked great,” Charlotte says. “Our talented florist provided some small posies to decorate it with and our guests loved it after enjoying the fantastic wedding breakfast provided by the catering team at the venue.” LOOKING THE PART Charlotte wore two dresses, a fairytale-inspired bridal gown followed by a change into a sparkly number for the evening reception. “I chose my bridal dress because it made me feel like a princess and having had a baby 13 months earlier, I didn’t want anything too fitted,” she tells us. “My sparkly shoes were from Dune and my earrings were a wedding gift from Mike. I also wore a cathedral-length veil that sparkled.” Mike chose a smart navy three-piece suit teamed with a bow tie. “His groomsmen wore the same suit but without the waistcoat,” Charlotte explains. “Our beautiful bridesmaids all wore lavender-coloured dresses and I let them choose the style that suited them. Our daughter who is three was a flowergirl and she looked so pretty in her dress.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We had a fantastic saxophonist who got everyone on the dancefloor partying the night away!” Charlotte tells us. “All of the staff at Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa were incredible - nothing was too much trouble.” - Charlotte and Mike REAL WEDDINGS 39
