Your Surrey Wedding - December/January 2023/2024 (Issue 104)

SEALED WITH A KISS Laura Barfield from Simply Laura Calligraphy (www.instagram.com/simply.laura.calligraphy) says: There are four main 2024 wedding stationery trends that I certainly have noticed. Firstly, the pocket folded envelopes. These are such a popular option for couples and allow the invite, details page and RSVP to sit together cohesively, keeping it all in one place for your guests. The second is incorporating shapes into stationery. Whether that’s arched or half-arched wedding invitations or circular place cards, using shapes can be really eye-catching and makes a nice statement. The use of wax seals too for both invitations and place cards is a timeless classic that’ll always impress. These can be personalised with initials to give that extra special touch to your stationery. Finally: QR codes for RSVPs. These are so convenient for your guests to scan and let you know whether they’re able to join you, rather than relying on the post. SOMETHING SWEET Grace McIntyre from BrownieMe (www.brownieme.co.uk) says: I think 2024 will see a rise in wholesome, personalised weddings. Although tradition has so much value, there’s nothing wrong with adding a few special touches and elements to show off your personalities. For example, chocolate brownies with your favourite toppings and a sign that says: “These are our fave toppings, if you don’t like them, tough luck!” This creates a wholesome feel as your guests see the two of you shine through. I think personalised gifts will also be on the rise in 2024, with more and more couples trying to find unique ways to thank their nearest and dearest for all their help with the wedding. A personalised brownie gift box is perfect for this. Who doesn’t love a good chocolate brownie, right? The thing I love most about working with couples is that every client is different, and with brownies being so versatile, I can work with them to create exactly what they want. There are no limitations or rules! OLDSCHOOL CHIC Brooke Ellis, co-founder and director of Ellis Gray Weddings (www.ellisgrayweddings.com) says: Our 2024 trend prediction is the classic vibe. We think the classic, elegant, old-school looks are coming back and will be huge over the next 12 months. Think Frank Sinatra in his prime kind of vibes. Black and white colour themes, champagne flowing, classical music filling the venue are all things we expect to see. This ties in beautifully with wedding films too. It allows the video to have a timeless feel to it and becomes something that can be looked back on for many years to come with no out-dated themes.
