Your Surrey Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 103)

PEACE OF MIND I’m worried about making plans and paying deposits out when something unexpected could happen, leaving us out of pocket. What could we do to give us piece of mind? The easiest way to provide yourself with peace of mind leading up to your special day is to purchase a suitable wedding insurance policy. A suitable policy is one that meets your needs for your day, for example providing you with enough cancellation cover for the total cost of your wedding and cover for the areas of your wedding that matter the most to you, so be sure to read the policy wording! Putting in place a suitable insurance policy can provide you with cover for areas such as cancellation, financial failure of wedding suppliers, public liability for you and your guests, and so much more. With our Dreamsaver package, you’re able to take out wedding insurance up to two years prior to your scheduled date as well as cover for any deposits you’ve paid prior to taking out a policy with us. How can I fit it all in and is it worth budgeting for a wedding planner? Fitting in planning a wedding around everyday life can feel daunting and the process can take many hours of your time, but it’s a really exciting time for a couple and one that’s meant to be enjoyed. With that in mind, having a planner on board allows you to relax and enjoy the process rather than getting stressed out by it all. Whether you’re thinking of budgeting for a planner or not, it’s good to understand what you want and don’t want for your day. Write a list of non-ne gotiables and must-haves because this will help with early supplier, venue and potential planner conversations. With a lot of moving parts and a significant investment of time and money, it’s important that the day goes exactly how you envision and from a logistical point of view, the venue and a wedding planner will help to ensure that the day itself runs smoothly. The lead up to the big day can be a little more time-consuming, which is why it is worth having initial conversations about what a planner can offer. The services often range from vision and decor to co-ordination, or full wedding planning and design. For those who are busy but may not be able to budget for a planner, there are lots of tools to assist you. My YouTube channel has hundreds of hours of free planning content available covering pretty much every topic you could imagine! I’ve also recently released my blueprint planning template, which is a fully customisable platform for you to know what steps to take and when to take them and you can add any additional thoughts as you go. It’s all mapped out by a pro planner and takes you through the whole journey!
