shade. I was quite easy going with what style they wore so once they knew the colour, my chief bridesmaid had the job of finding the dresses,” she says. SETTING THE SCENE The Church Centre was decorated with flowers and bunting, and guests sat at long tables, which created a lovely atmosphere. “We had a mix of dried and fresh flowers throughout the day, and we placed them along the tables with long candles on sticks for our centrepieces,” says Fran. The tables were named after places they’d been on dates at, and photos of Fran and Tommy were placed in a dried flower frame to add another personal touch. “Our mirrored table was created by my friend, who owns Imo’s Ink. She also made our table name drawings, place names and a watercolour painting of our church for the order of service. It all looked beautiful,” says Fran. Guests were gifted home-made rhubarb and ginger ale as favours. “My mum made the rhubarb and ginger ale is our favourite drink so that had to feature somewhere,” says Fran. “For our cake we had a macaron tower and during the evening we shared numerous homemade cakes,” she says. Fran and Tommy opted for Lebanese for the big-day menu, and Fran made warm chocolate brownie for dessert. SPECIAL MEMORIES “We had a live singer whilst people were having welcome drinks and a friend DJ’d for us. We asked the guests to request their favourite songs and gave him a playlist of ours too and he did a great job of filling the dancefloor throughout the night,” says Fran. Looking back on their day, Fran and Tommy couldn’t have wished for a better day. “On our wedding morning Tommy surprised me with a gift. He’d bought me a stunning ring that was set with my birth stone, it was a very special moment,” she says. “Our day was amazing and very chilled considering we had our young children with us. Our 3-year-old Otis, stood with us and held my hand as we said our vows. He said the best part of the day was getting married with mummy, it was super special,” says Fran. “We were both so excited that we were actually getting married, and it felt so good to be surrounded by all of our favourite people.” REAL WEDDINGS 39
