Alison says: Contouring has become a huge trend in recent years. It’s a technique where the combination of light and shadow reshapes, enhances and defines facial features, creating an illusion. If you’re new to this approach less is more and blending is key. Remember, the lines shouldn’t be visible. Apply contour first where you want to sculpt and define. The trick to this is to imagine drawing a number three down each side of the face from the forehead, in under the cheekbone and down and under the jaw line, then blend well. It can also be used down the sides of your nose. Highlighter is applied anywhere light would naturally hit the face, making features stand out and appear more prominent – the top of the cheekbones, down the centre of nose, centre of the forehead, the cupid’s bow and the brow bone. Beauty counters are full of contour and highlight products in both cream and powder forms. I love Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow, £49.00, for buildable subtle coverage. UP, UP AND AWAY Are there any up dos viable for shoulder-length hair? Toni says: Yes, absolutely. Shoulder- length hair is perfect for most of the up dos you see on Pinterest. We can create a multitude of styles with ease, when hair is Goldilocks length. Not too long and not too short, it’s just right for a textured boho up do, sleek chignon, halo brides, and more. If you have this length hair, you’re in luck and your stylist will be able to create a beautiful up do on your wedding day.
