STEPPING OUT IN STYLE Once the venue is booked and plans to bring your theme to life are well underway, it’s time to think about how your transport can fit into all of this. For a rustic setting such as a barn or a tipi, a classic Rolls Royce may not quite suit the vibe! Be inspired by your surroundings and choose your transport accordingly; opt for a Land Rover, or a retro VW Campervan – a great choice for boho-themed days. If on the other hand a manor house venue is on the cards, then a classic or vintage car will epitomise the feel of the day. Andy Bowers from Grange Bridal Cars says, “Vintage and classic cars offer more memorable moments, as you’ll only ever be able to take a trip in these on your wedding day, whereas more modern vehicles can be hired for many other special occasions.” You can also look at tying in your transport with your palette as well as your theme. Andy continues, “Why not ask if you can have the car’s ribbons in the same colour as your wedding’s palette?” ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS “Something we get asked for a lot is transporting the bridesmaids and family,” Andy says. “This isn’t an issue but when there’s a few to drive it could mean the first party will need to leave an hour before the bride to ensure everyone arrives on time. So, my tip is to arrange a minibus or taxi for the bridesmaids. It’s all about your day, so the car should really be just for you.” If you’re choosing a fleet of cars for your bridal party though, plan with the venue that driveways are kept clear so that there’ll be plenty of room for comings and goings. Does your venue have an area where the cars can wait between the ceremony and reception if needed? When it comes to transporting your guests from A to B a vintage bus or coach is a great idea but do consider space and location to know whether this is realistic. Peter Staveley from Southcoast Motor Services says, “Remember that a vintage bus or coach is up to 36ft (11m) long, more than 8ft (2.5m) wide and 15ft (4.5m) high, and doesn't have power steering. This means that there needs to be plenty of turning space at the venue and there can’t be any low trees in the road leading up to it. Many reception venues, churches, registry offices and others simply aren’t built to accommodate large vehicles on or around Grange Bridal Cars
