Your Sussex Wedding - April/May 2024 (Issue 108)

We made our own DIY order-of-the-day using an old pallet. This was probably the most stressful part of our last-minute preparations as we had an issue with our vinyl stickers, which arrived late, and we had to apply them letter by letter with tensions already high by this point! Harry took on the job of creating the place and table names, using printables form Etsy. There were a few teething problems to get the right size, but we got there in the end. Julie went above and beyond in creating my vision and bringing in all the finishing touches, I was so grateful. Valerie’s cake samples were to die for (be sure to try before you by as we had an awkward start with an initial supplier on this front). She even collaborated with our venue stylist on the decoration. My bouquet was one of the first things I decided on during those early planning stages, scouring Pinterest. I wanted large green and white flowers with a country feel, and decided on silk as I knew with fresh ones there’d be too much waste. We left our centrepieces in the trusted hands of Julie at Crystal Amor. It was very important to me that everything matched in terms of colour and style. I was also keen that they shouldn’t be so high that they cause a barrier to conversation, so we opted for low pieces that still made a statement. 45 REAL WEDDINGS
