that mum really liked the surprise,” Daisey says. FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD Newlyweds and guests dined on an incredible menu prepared by The Bell’s team, known for their brilliant food. Daisey and Lee had been lucky enough to sample a preview at their tasting evening, and felt confident that everyone was in for a real treat. “I wasn’t too concerned about what we’d choose for our wedding breakfast, but Lee is more of a food connoisseur and wanted it to be special, and somewhat fancy!” Daisey tells us. Despite feeling bewildered by the choice of designs and styles possible when she met wedding cake maker Charlie, Daisey knew she was in safe hands. “Charlie created a beautifully elegant cake that didn’t just look amazing, but tasted great too,” she says. “Our photographer Darren made us feel so relaxed even though we hate having our photos taken! He and his wife Jade slotted in effortlessly and have captured so many memories that we’ll cherish forever.” – Daisey GRAND DESIGNS As a bride-to-be, Daisey started her wedding dress shopping looking at gowns around the top end of her budget, but left the first boutique feeling deflated at not finding her dream dress. “They were all so beautiful, but I just couldn’t shake the fact that they were all so expensive,” she says. So, Covid masks at the ready, they tried another boutique with the aim of trying on several different styles. Due to the restrictions in place she could only pick out five; luckily though, Daisey says, “This worked in my favour as I found the one! It was the one style I wasn’t keen on trying. It was fitted, which I assumed wouldn’t do me any favours, but I absolutely loved it, and all for under £500 including any alternations needed nearer the time.” Lee decided early on that he didn’t want to wear anything that he’d feel uncomfortable in. The search wasn’t an easy one we’re told, but eventually he opted for chinos and a shirt, waistcoat and jacket. He used local independent menswear store, Dickies Menswear, where he bought the gents’ jackets and waistcoats in a gorgeous sage green tweed. The only hitch was that this range had no junior version for Daisey’s 10-year-old son, but ebay came to the rescue with a well nigh perfect match. The groom chose chinos in a slightly different hue to the rest of his party to help him stand out, and voila, all were suited, booted and good to go. Maid-of-honour, Daisey’s sister, was the only adult in the bridal party, and looked stunning in a beautiful soft champagne colour, which complemented the blush under layer of the bride’s dress. The remainder of the bride tribe were Daisey’s lovely girls, who wore dresses from JJ’s House following a previous drama with a supplier in the U.S. CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES A live band that came highly recommended by The Bell entertained everyone in the evening. They played a live version of the couple’s first dance song, Amazed by Lonestar and introduced the bride’s surprise twist on a father/daughter dance, Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. The couple had also hired a photo booth, which allowed guests to take a memento of the day home with them. The newlyweds also got a USB with all of the images of the night on it. THE BIG REVEAL “I was just so relieved at how well my speech went down,” Lee says. “I’d been jotting down paragraphs here and there since I proposed and had read the words a thousand times over, but I couldn’t gage what everyone else’s reaction would be. It was here that I was able to tell everyone that my wife was in fact a liar... She’d been giving various excuses for not drinking alcohol for many weeks, when the truth was, she was actually pregnant! We’d only told our immediate family the news the day before, so it was lovely to share it with everyone on our wedding day.” Daisey says, “I’d actually recommend avoiding alcohol on your wedding day if you can. I could only have a few sips, but not being able to drink was great for me as I’m able to remember every last detail about my day!” 47 REAL WEDDING
