Your Sussex Wedding - August/September 2023 (Issue 104)

Nick wore traditional tails, with a pale blue tie, while his groomsmen wore the same accessorised with black ties. We both felt great on the day, apart from my awful cold. There were no nerves though and even our photographer and make-up artist commented that it was the most relaxed wedding morning they’d been part of! Our table plan was handmade using a Jack Skellington wreath with ribbons and name cards hanging from it. Tables were named after Tim Burton movies including Beetljuice, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeney Todd, and Edward Scissorhands. When I walked down the aisle I swept up all the little pumpkins and petals with my dress as I went! My bridesmaids were dressed in dusky blue floor-length tulle dresses with sequins adorning the bodices. “Just keep calm. Nothing matters but you and your partner.” – Zoe Black dresses are hard to come by but I knew from my 30th birthday party that I wanted Velvet Birdcage to make it. I designed an empireline, black Mikado satin gown with a cathedral-length train. It featured plenty of tulle and a removable black cape attached at the shoulders. 38
