Your South Wales Wedding - July/August 2024 (Issue 98)

47 28 Local florists share their favourite flowers that fit three on-trend colour schemes. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite wedding venues. Rob caught Saz’s eye while she was out at a bar with her friends. Their relationship blossomed and years later, they had a laid-back wedding at the Ceridwen Centre. Choosing the perfect photographer for your big day can feel stressful. Trying to find a supplier that you get along with, that suits your budget and fits the vibe of your day can feel impossible, but don’t panic; there is a supplier out there for everyone! Once you’ve chosen your venue, start looking for your photographer right away. Especially if you’re planning a summer wedding, as photographers can get booked up years in advance. If you’re not sure where to start, when I got engaged, I looked through wedding magazines and Instagram to narrow down our list to five potentials. We found that most photographers don’t generally include their pricing on their website, so we emailed all of them and asked for their brochures and price lists. Once they’d all responded, we looked through the images and decided on the style that we liked (the fun part) and how much we wanted to spend (the not-so-fun part). We organised video chats with two of them and felt an instant connection with the photographer, who was recommended to us by a friend. He was lovely and put us both at ease right away, so we decided to hire him. If you’re feeling nervous in front of the camera, I recommend booking a pre-wedding shoot. We decided to book one, and although we were very nervous, I’m so glad we did it. It’s a great way to get to know your photographer and see how they work before the big day. Plus, you’ll come away with some beautiful images that you can use on your wedding stationery. To help you find a photographer, we’ve put together a feature introducing some of the region’s best suppliers. Happy planning!
