LOOKING YOUR BEST 65 GET THE LOOK To ensure you look your big-day best, make-up artist Emma from Makeup Locker (www.makeuplocker.com) shares the latest wedding trends. Make-up trends are always evolving, and this year is no exception! The trends for 2024, as per 2023, seem to be continuing down the route of natural, glowing beauty with bold statements. Natural brows and lashes, glowing skin and glossy lips are all popular choices. Bold lips are not as favoured; it’s more about soft, smokey eyes. Of course, in these times, anything goes, and I believe in finding a compromise between what’s on trend and what actually suits your face. To enhance your best feature, regardless of fashion, creating beautiful skin is always essential, no matter the trend. When it comes to your make-up base, less is more. You need to achieve this look with products that blend with your skin rather than sit on top of it to give the illusion of a glow. Two of my favourite products for this are from Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter blurs, smoothes, and illuminates. This can be used under your foundation or on its own for a natural look. This is amazing for older skin to create a healthy glow without the cakey foundation look. Use this with a little concealer in the right places and a dot of powder, and you have a beautifully natural look on the skin. The second is the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation, which moisturises throughout the day. It goes on with a dewy finish and allows natural freckles and skin tone to come through. However, it is also buildable to cover unwanted blemishes. Natural-coloured eyeshadows are in rather than the heavy glitter looks of the previous decades. Perhaps layer a translucent shimmer over a soft matte eyeshadow, creating a delicate look that will be classic and classy but still have that bridal sparkle! SEARCHING FOR THE ONE To help you find the perfect gown, Yasmine from The Bridal Boutique Crickhowell (www.bridalboutiquecrickhowell.com) reveals the latest wedding dress trends. As brides prepare to walk down the aisle in 2024, they’re met with a dazzling array of wedding gown trends that blend timeless elegance with contemporary flair. Here’s a glimpse into the captivating bridal fashion landscape shaping the year ahead: Ethereal romance: In 2024, brides are embracing ethereal, romantic gowns that exude whimsy and grace. Flowing fabrics such as chiffon, tulle, and organza create dreamy silhouettes that flutter with every step. Delicate lace details, floral appliqués, and sheer overlays add a touch of romance, while soft pastel hues like blush and champagne offer a fresh alternative to traditional white. Modern minimalism: Clean lines and sleek silhouettes take centre stage in the world of bridal fashion. Simple yet sophisticated, these gowns feature architectural designs and figure-flattering cuts that emphasise the bride’s natural beauty. Modern minimalism is all about effortless elegance. Statement sleeves: Sleeves are making a major comeback in bridal fashion, with dramatic puffed sleeves adding a touch of drama and sophistication to wedding gowns. Sheer and illusion: For brides who want to make a subtle yet stunning statement, sheer and illusion details are the perfect choice. Sheer bodices add an element of intrigue and allure to wedding gowns. Convertible styles: Versatility is key for brides, and convertible wedding gowns offer the ultimate in flexibility and customisation, especially detachable overskirts. Unexpected colours: While ivory and white will always be a classic choice for wedding gowns, 2024 sees brides embracing unexpected colours and hues. www.lynnehugheswilliams.co.uk www.lynnehugheswilliams.co.uk Sloan by WONÁ Concept Asmara by Pronovias Adah by Nicole Milano
