Your South Wales Wedding - November/December 2023 (Issue 94)

For our transport, we hired a campervan for the bridesmaids and a beetle for my dad and me. However, my dad couldn’t get his legs in the car because my dress was so big, so he ended up travelling with my bridesmaids, and my mum came with me. Sugar & Spice Cakes provided our two-tier cake, which was decorated with real flowers. Steve and I decorated the reception space with a seating plan painted by my mum, flowers, rustic love letters and a postbox supplied by the venue. Our favours were boxes that I decorated with lace and hessian ribbons. I filled them with jars of honey and seeds. My bridesmaids also gave everyone a Gower Rhosili Gin and Fever-Tree Tonic, as we love Gower and wanted our favours to reflect that. The centrepieces were large bouquets of white and blue flowers placed on tall silver stands. The Wedding Business did an amazing job with our flowers. We both love the sea and spend a lot of time with the children at the beach, so the Oxwich Bay Hotel was a natural choice for us. The staff couldn’t do enough and always asked if we needed anything or if they could help in any way. 42
